1950s: The school closed and the district was consolidated with other surrounding districts.
*The district is comprised of part (or all??) of the obsolete District #42
*It was called the Landis school because it was on land owned by the Landis family. And because water had to be carried from the Ellmann well it became known as the Ellmann School.
*Frequent field trips were to KSTP and the Capitol.
*Enrollment in 1938: 26 students.
Memories: "In the fall and winter we always had...skunks. There was a break in the cement foundation where they entered and hibernated for the winter months. The odor from them almost ran us out of the school room. My father and some of the older boys in the school were always trapping them but the animals multiplied faster than they boys could trap them. This project wasn't a specific tradition all over except in our school and always typical in the farm areas." -Lenora Ellmann Stabenow
