District formed	1870
Years schools built	1876, 1890
General location	Northern part of May
Modern address	Located at Square Lake Trail and Norell in the town of May.
District boundaries	Big Marine Lake marks the northwestern corner of the district, while North Terrapin Lake marks the southeastern corner.
Disposition	Now a residence.
Notes	1868: A proposal is written to organize District 50 from 5,6, and 7. 1870: District established. 1871: Long Lake School organized. Classes are held in the home of Andrew Carlson. 1876: The first school is built on land owned by Nels Weberg. 1890: School moved to present location. 1952: Long Lake School closes. Enrollment in 1876: 13 students. In 1898: 35 students.
Memories:	"When I was in the sixth grade, something great happened at school. We got electricity! We never did get running water or inside rest rooms, but what we did get were electric lights and a record player. The big deal about that was that now we had music. We learned how to square dance, do the Virginia Reel plus other dances. I can still remember Shirley Rydeen's and my learning to dance to the "Wednesday Night Waltz". Whether we were doing it right or not I'll never know, but we sure did try." -Irene Ancke Elkins "I remember the outhouse, the hills for tobogganing, skating on Joe Johnson's lake and the long walk home. Those were really the days. I look forward to our school get together every summer." - Jeanette Johnson Osburn
