*Originally the school was located 1/2 mile north, in the SE corner of section 16.

*Originally the school was comprised of territory north and south of the lake, but kids from the north found it hard to cross the lake at certain times, so district 71 was formed.
*Formed from districts 56, 38, 2, and 61.
*In 1898, the school was in the center of the Forest Lake town.
