Notes | 1850: The first school
of Red Rock was held in Mr. F. Ford's house about 1 block from the public
library. Later it was also held at Mr. John Willoughby's house. 1866: District 43, Red Rock, is organized and a school is built. 1875: The school is moved to Newport village, then moved 1 block north and west of Durand's store. 1880: New school building built. 1890: The districts divided, and an old library building moved to Red Rock. 1896: District #68 is officially organized. The district receives 2 schools. *Not a lot of parent involvement *School was 9 months long. |
